Q: Do I need any special clothing to come for lessons?

A: No, just wear loose, comfortable clothes.

Q: How many lessons will it take for me to get rid of my backache/change my ideas/reach my goals?

A: This is a really difficult question to answer, because we are all different, and learn at different rates. We also are all unique in what we want to change and how long we have been doing what we want to change. However I usually advise new students to try an Introductory Course of 10 lessons. Most people then know enough about the processes and ideas to decide whether they want to or need to continue.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Please see the booking and costs page .

Q: Will I have to do exercises at home?

A: No, but if you agree I will give you reading homework, and I will usually encourage you to try out new ideas in between lessons.

Q: Is it OK to study the Alexander Technique and still do yoga, pilates or tai chi?

A:Yes, in fact learning the Alexander Technique can help you improve any activities you are already doing.

Q:Can I choose to have individual lessons? Or choose to have group lessons?

A: Yes you can. Please have a look at Individual and Group Lessons for information about the differences. It makes it easier for me to organise a group at short notice if you can encourage friends or family members to come along. Please see Introductory Courses for the next start date of my regular group courses.

Q: Can I come and find out what the Alexander Technique is about without having to commit to a course?

A:Yes. Please see the information about a free Introductory Lesson and Introductory Workshops.
